Welcome to Hokanson’s Guest House Bed & Breakfast!

Located directly off Interstate 5 in historic downtown Roseburg, our quaint victorian manor is fully air conditioned and features antique furnishings as well as your choice of full 3-course or continental breakfast. Gift items and souvenirs are available. Located in the midst of downtown Roseburg, many shops and restaurants are within walking distance of only a few minutes. Off-street parking is available, and we also offer discounted rates for extended stays. We host weddings and small group meetings at a reduced rate.

The nostalgic feeling of days gone by is waiting for you at Hokanson’s Guest House, a gorgeous Victorian home built in 1882, is one of the most beautiful and unique places to stay in our area. They are the only bed and breakfast on the National Historic Register. Tastefully refurbished rooms decorated with antiques and cozy, overstuffed furniture, gorgeous floral arrangements and an atmosphere of casual warmth, make this a most charming destination. Escape To The Glorious Oregon Outdoors!

Roseburg, Oregon is the county seat of Douglas County, and is considered the gateway to the infamous Crater Lake National Park. The South fork of the Umpqua river can be found passing through the city, on the west end of Roseburg’s historic downtown area. There are numerous parks and recreation areas within 10 minutes driving distance from the city center, and we are situated between two great locations for day-trips with the Oregon Coast an hour to the West, and the Umpqua National Forest to the East, including several waterfalls and nature trails. We are also close to many Vineyards and Wineries for sampling award winning Willamette Valley grown and produced wines.

Driving Directions

From I5
Take Exit 124 (City Center Exit) and turn right onto Harvard Blvd (Harvard Blvd will change into Oak Ave when it splits to cross the Umpqua River). Proceed for approximately 3/4 of a mile through three lighted intersections until you hit Jackson St. Turn right onto Jackson St and proceed for 3 blocks. You will see us located on the right hand side on the 4th block.

From Highway 99, North (known as Stephens St throughout Roseburg)
Turn right onto Lane Ave and proceed for 2 blocks. Turn right again onto Jackson St and you will see us located on the right hand side.

From Highway 99, South
Turn left on Lane Ave and proceed for 3 blocks until you hit Jackson St. Turn right onto Jackson St, we are located on the right hand side.

Marietta Howell married George Kohlhagen in 1894. Featured in this large room is the wood-burning fireplace mantel Marietta completed before the turn of the century. Vertical-grained fir walls are original in this east bedroom. Two beds grace this room, the Royal Crown king and a period Cast Iron double, each topped with a hand-quilted comforter.

Frances Howell came to Roseburg with her parents in 1884. She was a schoolteacher and bookkeeper. Her west room, overlooking the backyard, is decorated in her favorite colors, lavender and rose. The room has a high back oak queen bed.

Considerations


  • The permanent residents of the manor do include cats Bo and Rio. However, they will not disturb guests or inhabit guest quarters.
  • Children 12 and older only, please.
  • Smoking is only permitted on the front porches.
  • No pets or alcohol.
